How to Apply

Your best set starts with the right prep. Take a few extra minutes at the beginning for a cleaner fit and a stronger hold. Everything you need is already in your kit.

Washing hands with soap and warm water before applying de blinkie press-on nails
1

Start with clean, dry hands

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry completely.

Skip for now: No lotion, hand cream or cuticle oil before application. Oils are the main reason press-ons lift early.

2

Prep your natural nails

Remove any polish, then trim and file your nails to your preferred length. Gently push back the cuticles, lightly buff the surface, then wipe each nail with the alcohol wipe.

Why it matters: Prep is the difference between a few days and two weeks of wear.

3

Find your fit

Lay out all ten nails in order, thumb to little finger. Each press-on should sit edge to edge across your nail without touching skin or cuticles.

Applying nail glue and adhesive tabs to de blinkie press-on nails
4

Choose your adhesive

Glue, for up to 14 days of wear: brush a thin layer onto your natural nail and a small dot on the back of the press-on, keeping it away from the cuticle.

Tabs, for 1 to 3 days: press the correct size tab onto your natural nail, then peel away the top film.

5

Align, press and hold

Place the press-on just above the cuticle, lower it into position, then press firmly from the centre out to the edges. Hold 30 to 60 seconds with glue, 20 to 30 seconds with tabs.

Avoid: Sliding or repositioning the nail once it touches the adhesive. Firm, even pressure pushes out any air bubbles.

Let the bond set

Repeat on every nail, then keep your hands dry and free of oils and lotions for at least one hour. Avoid heavy tasks or soaking your hands for the first few hours.

Best trick: Apply the night before your event, not the morning of.

Tips to maximise wear

These small habits make your manicure look cleaner and help every set reach its full two weeks.

Apply before bed
Your nails set while you sleep, with nothing to knock them.
Use less glue
A thin coat stops glue squeezing out around the edges.
Wear gloves for chores
Water and cleaning products loosen the glue faster than anything else.
Keep your kit handy
Keep spare glue in your bag and you can fix a lifted nail on the spot.

Gentle Removal

Never peel or force your press-ons. A slow, gentle soak protects your natural nails and keeps your set ready for its next wear.
